2023 EDITION

It was an Indian summer at the Stade Roland-Garros for the 2nd edition of the Paris Beach Pro Tour.
For 5 days, the world's best men's and women's beach volleyball teams battled it out to win one of the most prestigious events of the year. It was an opportunity to score points in the race for Olympic qualification, and a real-life test before the world championships and the Olympic Games.

The men's tournament

The level was high in the men's draw, with the world's best pairs vying for the trophy. It was the Czechs Perušič/Schweiner who came out on top against the German pair Ehlers/Wickler. A great year for the world's 3rd best pair, who were crowned world champions the following month in Tlaxcala, Mexico. It was the Dutch pair Brouwer/Meewsen who took the final place on the podium, having already been finalists in 2022.
The final table for 2023 can be found at the bottom of the page.

The performance of the French!

Once again at the Paris Beach Pro Tour, the pairing of Krou/Gauthier-Rat came very close to qualifying for the quarter-finals against the 5th best pairing in the world and this year's finalists, the German pair Ehlers/Wickler. That's still a big improvement on 2022. We hope to see them on Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening at the next edition. Meanwhile, the second French pair, Lynnel/Bassereau, did not disappoint in a very tough pool that included two top-10 pairs, but unfortunately did not qualify for the finals.
The other French pairs had failed to qualify on qualification day.

The women's tournament

In the women's tournament, the world's top pair and Olympic champions Duda/Ana Patricia took the trophy against the American pair Nuss/Kloth, whom they had played the previous month in Hamburg. Unfortunately for our Placette/Richard duo, they were unable to compete and were eliminated in the group stages. Nonetheless, the pair continued to make progress, notably reaching the quarter-finals at Joao Pessoa at the end of the year. The other French pair, Vieira/Chamereau, lost to the Americans Cannon/Craft on qualification day.
